S60 gears?

Can someone school me on this? Can a S60 have any lower gears than 3:54s? I was under the impression that 3:54s was the lowest gear offered.

You are correct. 3.54, 3.73, 4.11, 4.56 are the choices.

Why is it that there is such a limited gear selection?

My next question ^^^. Me being a turbo car I think I need a little lower gear than 3.54s. But cant afford anymore loss hp due to a 9". Thats the reason why Im going S60 in the 1st place

That's my predicament. I'm bolt-on's now. Going H/C soon and want to turbo it down the road. I hate to buy a rear twice.

Dana 61

To add a little bit of history here, dana made a different version of the dana 60 in the late 80s, its known as a dana 61. It had the pinion location cast into the housing with a different offset than the standard dana 60. That way, gear ratios numericly lower than 3.54 could be used. This was done for gas mileage reasons.

Just an opinion but I see lots of turbo cars running 342-355 gears.
I just bought my s60 from Carl with 354 gears. If I end up needing to change something I'll up from a 26" tire to a 28" and hope that's enough lol
