Default Click/creek in rear end

My '02 SS M6 (17k miles) has a creak/scrape noise from the rear end . It is more noticeable going 15 mph or so . It only happens going forward. It is not coming from the brakes. The noise comes and goes as you move . It has a diff from SLP in it I assume (according to the right hand door sticker). I bought it used last year. Where do I find specific SLP rear diff parts if needed? What kind of rear axle fluid do these need ? I read it is different than a stock rear diff.
Thanks

An 02 would have come off the assembly line with a Torsen. SLP could have replaced it with an Auburn or an Eaton. Without more specifics(SLP part numbers) from the SLP order, you'd have to pull the cover off to see what you have.

Since it's an Auburn, regular Auburn parts, such as a spider set. How many miles on it ?,if the cone clutches are wore out, carrier needs replacement.
Regular non-synthetic gear lube and add GM/AC Delco limited slip additive. No synthetic lube for Auburns.
Have you checked the rear sway bar bushings for 'creeking' ?
clicking could come from the u-joint.

I jacked up the rear end,and turned the right rotor. I sounds like its coming from the rear end. What weight rear axle fluid need? The car has 17k on it. I can order parts right from Auburn ? I think the axle cover is silicone? Maybe its the u joint . I'll bring it into work , rear axles are not something I'm comfortable taking apart.

17,000 should not have an Auburn problem, now 170,000 would have worn cone clutches.

Let's hope not for the price of an Auburn diff.

Well,I took it to work today. Put it on the alignment rack (it's too low for a lift) . Turns out that it was the right rotor. Apparently the parking brake part was mis-machined and it was hitting the parking shoes. Who would have thought?
