Help me pick a gear I think I have decided on a Strange 12 bolt, now I need some gear advice..
2002 WS6
Automatic - 4L80E
LS1 stock bottom end
Advanced Induction stage 2 243 heads
Fast 102 intake
Tick stage 2 turbo cam
Single 7875 billet turbo - running up to 10psi to keep bottom safe
Circle D 245mm 4000 stall multi disk
Estimating I will make between 600 and 650hp and that's plenty for me
Will be running a radial drag slick on 10" wheel
I am told turbos like higher gears in the mid 3's but I was thinking 3.73 or 3.90
Let me know your thoughts out there, especially if you have similar setup..

Good questions and meant to put it in..
Tire size currently 275 R 15.. probably be something similar going forward...
be a 90% bracket racer 1/8 mile.. some street time for entertainment only.

Are you going to be leaving on a transbrake?
If bracket racing I'd go with a taller gear to ensure traction and let that turbo eat in third gear to make some mph.
Have you bracket raced with the turbo much? Consistent?

No transbrake, just a good old foot... Haven't raced with turbo at all am in the last (or so I think) few items left on the "put back together" list.. I have raced with twin screw supercharger before with 4.10 and traction was tough to conquer.

1/8 mile changes things but heads /cam/turbo 1/4 mile you would usually see 323/342 or thereabouts , keep the turbo in its happy spot for torque and to run out of rpm before the traps. 373 sounds about right to me but I am no expert on that combo but if you ever end up at a 1/4 mile track you could run a taller tire and come close to be able to run it out through the traps....

what kind of times are you getting in the 1/8 with similar setup? you like the TH400 over the 4l80e? I was thinking of swapping that out too to drop an easy 100 lbs.. especially if I go with a higher gear.
