Strange S60 & MWC Suspension installed
Hey guys,
Recently finished installing a Strange S60 rear end, PST D/S and MWC suspension in my 2002 SS. All ordered through Midwest Chassis.
Here's my options:
-35 Spline S-trac diff
-4.10 gears
-4chl ABS
-1350 Chromoly Pinion Yoke
-1350 billet yoke cap kit
-1/2" x 2" wheel studs
-drain & fill plug
-MWC adj tunnel mount torque arm
-MWC DDX crossmember with driveshaft loop
-MWC double adj heim/heim LCAs
-MWC double adj heim/heim PHB
-PST 3.5" x .120" wall aluminum driveshaft with 1350 U-joints & Sonnax forged yoke
Here's a little vid for an overview of everything on the car, while it was in for an alignment:
Very happy with this setup so far. Haven't been to the track yet, but it drives nice and smooth on the street. Car feels more solid and planted, hooks awesome even with bald DRs. If I've lost power from the 10-bolt, I can't feel it. Also don't notice the extra weight at all. The heim joints do make you feel/hear the road more, but for me it's very acceptable for the street.
I ran the car through 5 or 6 heat cycles of easy driving below 50mph before changing the fluid, and I ended up with a very slight whine above 50mph on coast, so relatively quiet. At least quieter than my 3.90 10-bolt lol.
Midwest Chassis was great to deal with. They got me everything I needed to bolt this right up to my car
Happy to finally be able to run a real tire on the car
I still have a Level 7 TR6060, 31 spine yoke and RPS BC2 I'd like put in the car before I hit the track with the slicks n skinnies. Or if I'm feeling brave, I'll see how the stock T56 and Monster level 2 like the extra traction
Stay tuned for new track results!
Cheers,
Alex

Can't go wrong with MWC. While at the alignment shop did they dial in the pinion angle, thrust angle, and get instant center?

I'd also like to eventually get a good coilover setup on the car to really dial it in.
Anyone recommend a good street/strip setup?

I've put about 2000kms and 30 track passes on the setup with new clutch and trans and with 6-7K rpm clutch dumps on slicks, it just takes it!

As you guys can see in my sig, it's allowed me to drop my time about 7/10ths
With the lighter RPS clutch, it traps a little higher than previous best on 10-bolt, so the S60 doesn't seem to rob much power
