I would take a look at offerings from the site's vendors and talk to them about what goals you have, however I would recommend Midwest Chassis.

We have multiple options for a fabricated nine inch. We do not offer a stamped style nine inch as there is floor to torque arm fitment issues that can not be solved so we never offered a stamped nine inch. However our fabricated nine inch bolts back in the same way a stock 10-bolt comes out. It includes the basics like a drain plug, e-brake brackets, and brake line tabs and clips. No need to use zip ties with our housing to hold on brake lines and e-brake cables. Our packages also come with a torque arm and crossmember of your choice. We have a long arm or short arm option with multiple crossmembers to choose from. The nice thing about our torque arm design is it does not have the same concerns as a stock style torque arm and is lighter and stronger with no issues of making contact with the floor.

Here is some choices and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

9" rear is available in amazon, you can purchase over there. Instead, a piece of advice from an expert is simply to go for some axle repair shop or if you can arrange to CA visit axle surgeons.

I really like the sound of that. Thank you very much.

Can you let me know what you recommend for a supercharged/head/cam car that will be 90% street driven? Comfort is key - I just want peace of mind that I won't blow it up. Powertrax? S Trac?

The Powertrax and S-trac will have the exact same driving characteristics between them. The Powertrax has been proven to be a durable differential especially based off the price however if you want strength with room to grow the S-trac is the better choice. The S-trac is stronger than the Powertrax based off of design. So you should be okay with either one.

If comfort is key then you may want to consider a rear end that utilizes the factory torque arm location. Any rear-end configured with a chassis mounted torque arm will transmit more NVH than the factory mounting locations. In some cases it can be quite noticeable. Everyone has a different threshold for what they consider tolerable. If you are a competitive drag guy or drag the car frequently on slicks and make decent power then a chassis mounted torque arm may be necessary. If it's a street cruiser on radials then it may not be necessary.

It is a street car on radials that sees the track only a couple of times per year.

In the 9" options from Midwest, would the long arm T56 crossmember option be what I'm looking for?

I have the long arm and it does not. I don't think that Midwest offers a torque arm for their 9" that mounts to the factory location. At least they didn't when I inquired years ago. They can chime in if I am wrong. If they did then I would def buy one for my setup.

Also, regarding the Powertrax differential, the factory installed bolts on the Powertrax differential supplied with my 9" backed out and grinded against my differential case littering the assembly with debris. I ended up having the replace the powertrax diff, bearings and gears. So if you end up going with the Powertrax, you're going to want to make sure they applied locktite to all of the bolts before installing.

I went with MWC as well, Powertrax. I've been super happy with it. I didn't like the OEM mickey mouse brake lines on the new unit, so I remade those. Otherwise, the thing was a bolt-in deal. Was painless. The torque arm transmits a little more noise when shifting, sometimes over big bumps too, but overall exceeded expectations on quiet-ness. My buddies 12 bolt Moser won't let you have a conversation at highway speeds, my 9 inch isn't even audible at any speed.

Torque arm choice is dependent on a few different variances. Transmission, gear, hp, weight, vehicle use, and so on. Our long arm as well comes with a transmission crossmember and pivot link in the same manner as our short arm. Our pivot link does have a poly mount at the crossmember to try and reduce some vibrations. However as we all know the last thing in a F-Body performance application is the horrible outcome of leaving a torque arm especially a rigid after market torque arm mounted to the tail housing is. Then if you use the style torque arm that uses a clam shell at the tip and a tube that slides through it creates bind and hinders free movement.
