Default MWC install. Is this chattering normal?

the installer used my stock drive shaft with a different U-Joint. I am thinking I probably need to upgrade… I’m not sure if this sound is normal for an aftermarket rear…

My friend's MWC doesn't make that noise.

What type of limited slip/posi is in the carrier? Is chattering worse when turning?

If it's a clutch type maybe it just needs the limited slip additive.

I went with the S-Trac. It doesn't make the sound when turning. Its most noticable at highway speeds. Doesn't really do it at lower speeds.

The installer adjusted it and the vibration is mostly gone ... just this odd sound remains.

I used their torque arm:

Torque Arm & Crossmember Options: Short Arm True Dual Crossmember (Two Piece Arm Needed Double Wall Higher HP)

I have Speed Engineering True Duals over the axel so it may be exhaust? The installer told me it fit like stock but they rattled a bit stock too, but I never got this sound until I installed my MWC.

Sounds like exhaust hitting. Do you have a drive shaft loop?

i have the se true duals and mine only hits on larger bumps where it goes over the axle housing . also i will add my exhaust it a red c hair away from the driveshaft but its never touched it , well a red c hair when its on my lift and the axles hangs down . those duals are very large and very close , it almost sounds like a chattering of the exhaust on something .

shake on the tips and listen , if you know its hitting you have to fix that first , did you have this sounds before the duals ?

Get it up in the air and check it out .

Your torque arm could be touching your driveshaft loop. I had that issue.

Mine doesn't make a sound while driving. The only noise that comes from my rear is clicking from my Yukon grizzly locker when taking a corner

Mwc wanted me to send in. But life got crazy. I ended up just putting some radiator hose where it was touching.

For the non DIY guy it’d probably be cheaper to ship them the whole car. 😂.

I'll probably see about going to MWC in Spring.

Quick Reply: MWC install. Is this chattering normal?
