Well guy's after asking mundo questions about TCI converters on that other board, they contacted me and built one with a 3500 stall and 2.0 str. I recieved it today and the part number is 242932. it should be available to the pulic soon. I will be testing at the track for TCI Sunday and expect 4 to 5 tenths of my times as long as my NITTOs hold and should put me in the7s in the 1/8 mile. I will keep you all informed on my progress.

Awesome converters. Just had one installed myself and ran a best of 12.91 thus far. You'll love it I'm sure. Keep us posted. <img src="images/icons/smile.gif" border="0">

Yes I do Pro Stock John. My times are all low 8.4's for the last five runs at 83.5 to 84.9 mph with all of my 60 ft times in the 1.9's on nittos.
I hope I'm not asking too much when I say I am looking for 1.5 1.6 60 ft's.

I myself have that very same converter TCI 242931. I have this converter for a year now and have had no problems what so ever. This converter will flash to 3800. The 2.0 str is very noticible from a dead. Converter will unlock at the blip of the throttle. I have no track times unfortunatley. This conveter was $432 shipped from summit. At the time it was special order. To me this one heck of a converter.

Well installed the TC today and it didn't feel loose at all. I was expecting the worse. It will take some getting used to. Coming back from the install I turned a corner and gave it a bit too much gas and was instantly facing the wrong direction. Got on it at 20 mph and broke the tires loose. at 65 and 70 where I had my dead spot the car responds a whole lot better. It seem like at 45 to 50 mph the converter locks and unlocks continously. at any speeds below or above it's fine. I used to shift to second at 70 mph to get going and I tried it tonight and hit the rev limiter so I will play with my shift point tomorrow and see if I can fix the unlocking at 50 and raise the rev limiter to around 6500. I will post track results when I get back Sunday afternoon. Tomorrow I will be learning how to launch with it. Seems like this is going to be one heck of a TC.

ProModTA I'm sure you have a great converter but it is not the same converter. My part number is 242932 and the invoice say's new part # from TCI research and development product sent out for testing with little likleyhood of salvage. For info on part # see so and so. Good to know that you like yours though. Have you had any issues with it locking up and unlocking at any speeds?

My conveter locks up at about 45 to 50 also but instantly unlocks at the blip of the throttle. I had the same problem when I installed the veter with it bumping the rev limiter. I havent don anything with the ecm and I have no problems now with hitting the limiter. But as far as liking the verter I like it not to loose and not to tight. it did take me about a week to get use to it. Oh mileage went down after the install thats for sure. Glad to here that others are using the TCI converter other than me.

Doug, I'm glad to hear you like your and I look forward to hearing more from topfig1 on his new unit. I've been eyeing the TCI units for a while since they are half the price of a YANK, and I can get them through one of my suppliers already. topfig1 let us know more on your new unit when you've had it for a while. I'm willing to bet your problem bumping the limiter will go away with more driving.

Well, just got back from the track and the TCI converter was flawless. I adjusted my shift points with HPPIII and no longer have the lock unlock issues. I ran my best 1/8 mile time of 8.14 at 84 mph with a 1.7 60 ft. I could not hook as desired or I would have easily been in the sevens. I took off three tenths from my previous best which was run in 47 degree weather as opposed to 70 today. If you take the 2 tenths the SLP 2600 took off and add the 3 tenths the TC1 took off then you would be looking at around a half second reduction in ETs with the TCI converter. When you consider that they will run between $400.00 and $500.00 you are getting a great bang for the buck. I will try some lower control arms and ET streets to see if I could take more advantage of this unit. Today TCI gets a big thumbs up from me.
