Default Ordered the 9 inch, now some questions.

Well I just ordered the 9 inch from Billingsley and should be here in a few weeks. Now I just have some quick questions about it, and getting it setup right.

First off, my take it that ill need to use the brake backing plates from the stock 10 bolt. I was also told that I would need to get a bearing pressed into the 9 inch, im not sure if i need to use the bearing from my stock 10 bolt, or if it comes with one.

What else will need to be used off the stock 10 bolt.

Also When putting it together is there anything else I should look for? Jay told me that one axle is longer than the other, and he was pretty sure it was the passenger side that was longer.

I just dont want to run into any snags, and get this setup properly the first time.

Thanks,
Mark

The 9inch kit should come with the bearings that you'll need to press on to the axles for the brake backing plates.

sounds good, so the bearings need to be pressed onto each axle?

Also any idea on which side has the longer axle?

you put the a backing plates on the axle shaft then press the bearing on so the plate is sandwiched between them.

no idea about the length but I was told the package came with good instructions

one piece of good advice i found out when i put mine together for the second time. the t bolts ( backing plate bolts ) that are supplied with the housing are barely long enough to get the nut on, most of the time a lock washer wont fit. i ditched the t bolts and got some 3/8" fine thread hex head bolts that were just longer than the t bolt (i think it was 1.5" but not sure) and ground down an edge of the head to they fit where the t bolts went. this allowed me to get a washer and a lock washer on there. (i had some issues with them consistantly vibrating loose)

My installer had the same problem. We ended up cutting and re chamfering the axles by 1/4". Moser sucks.
