What should the pinion angle be set at?

Im about to put a 12bolt in the TA and was jw what the pinion angle should be set at? Its a 6spd

-2 works good for my ride. Thats measuring from the pinion flange with the driveshaft off with a digital angle finder, ( smart tool ).

Measure the stock angle before you remove it.

This is the proper method;

Remove the drive shaft & get the angle mesurment from you output shaft/yoke on trans. Now adjust pinon accordingly.

Ever since I changed to a locker in my 9" I've had wheelhop problems. I've screwed around with the pinion angle following popular measuring & adjustment techniques. I measured the trans angle, the driveshaft & the pinoin & set the angle -2 relative to the trans as many "how to's" say to do it. Still had wheelhop & cranked down another 2 degerrs & still was hoppin. Today I set it -2 relative to the ground, to hell with the rest of the drivetrain & guess what? No more wheelhop. Today's total adjustment was about -3 degrees from where it was, I'm amazed at the difference
