Well you seem to be the Ram knowlegable guy here! Well i went with the 402pp/310disk.(z06 flywheel) aked Ram about the Hole diff. in size you were talking about. He told me something i didnt understand about need to shave a 1,000th off somewhere to sink in the bolts of something?? Guess it could cause vibration if you dont??.
This is what he said exactly if it helps im lost here if you didnt notice. I will need "3/8 16th bolts and a 1000th counterbore" Any help clearing this up for me would be helpful??? Thanks Tim

they told me initially that i'd have to drill and tap the flywheel for 3/8 bolts. yeah right

first off, you will need to remove the alignment dowels on the flywheel, as the new plate doesn't use them.

you will reuse the stock plate bolts with the 402.

there are 6 holes in the plate. they are setup for 3/8 bolts. soooo......

three of them are clearanced for a 3/8 bolt, those are big enough for the 10mm stock bolts.

the other 3 will need to be drilled out. I'm pretty sure i used a 27/64" drill. You will be able to see which holes they are, cause the drill will fit in 3 of the holes, and not in the other 3.

I'm pretty sure it's 27/64", i know it was an odd numbered 64th bit. if the 27 doesn't fit the bolts, it may be 29.

try 27 first.

Oh i see. I bet if you did use the 3/8 bolts you would have to use the .100 counterbore (whatever that is) but if you just drill for the 10mm bolts its the same thing just easier....

A counterbore is a recess for the bolt to sit into. In this case, it would be .100" deep. The shop 'should' know what you're talking about.

???? I just removed the dowels from the stock flywheel and drilled out the pp holes for the stock bolts. Just like Harlan says. Don't remember the drill size, just use the existing holes to guage the proper drill bit. It's really a no-brainer. Remember to use Locktite!

Maybe so, but I'm just clarifying what Mike told Tim so he understood what he meant. I never said he had to do that.
