Default I own a Yank TC and never thrown a code...

Just a poll, I'm trying to find what converter everyone is running that has no lockup issues and doesn't throw any codes.

I've been reading ls1.com for a long time and just recently heard of lockup problems and codes thrown with the ST3500.

It's like all of a sudden everyone comes out and says - well, of course you have to put in 3rd under 50mph, and the converter does not always lockup right, etc.

Why am I just now hearing about these issues...

Well I have a ST3500, and it has thrown codes since day one. Just the usual SES light if I forget to drive in 3rd below 50, and sometimes I get a Flashing SES light for about 10 seconds if I just punch it from a roll below 40 and shift into OD. Not big problems really, more like annoying idiosyncrasies.

Hmm, odd... I have had my ST3500 for over a year now and have NEVER had a problem with it. When I get in the car I move the shifter from park, to OD and that is where it stays until I slide it back to park whether it be at the drag strip or tooling around town. Go figure, huh? <img src="images/icons/confused.gif" border="0">

TP4400 here with never a code or a lockup problem. Mine even when I ran 3.23 gears would lockup above 35mph with no problems. Things that make you say HMMMMM.

Never thrown a code with my two '98 LS1 F-Bodies nor my '01 Tahoe. My '00 WS6 did throw a code (Pro Yank 3600 Extreme), but it was a tranny code that was not related to the converter. So actually in my case, 11 converters later, not one code...hmmmm.

Just a question, is it the '01/'02 cars that have been having problems with throwing codes or have some of the older cars been doing it too. My '98 never threw a code with the Yank 2800 I ran for 2 1/2 years.

I throw codes since the day I put it in. I have a Yank TP 4500.
A day doesnt go by that I throw a code at least once sometimes 2-3 times a day. <img src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" border="0"> <img src="gr_images/icons/mad.gif" border="0">

In my 2000 Z28, I never had a code with the Vig 2800.

This converter kicks *** at the track tho.

Argh, this sucks. So many other people running stalls and no codes. Like I said above, its no huge problem more like a nuisance. My car is a 01, so maybe it does have something to do with 01 and up models. Could it be related to the TM problems I hear so many other 01 owners talking about?

I had a ST3500 in a 98Z that never set a code, but always had slippage when locked up under light throttle. Seemed to be the worst around 2000 rpm. Tech 2 showed 300 rpm slippage. It's that grinding sound and feel that some complain about. It would do it in D or OD. I put 6000 miles on it and it did it from day 1 till I took it out. It is out of the car now and on it's way back to Yank to be checked out.

No codes at all here. It does like to rev a little taking off around town. Sure does kick butt though. <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[Burnout]" />
