Default Broke rear on 1-2 shift?!?!

I'm amazed to say I broke the rear on the 1-2 shift on sumitumo street tires (315/35/17) I never thought that this could happen. Now I don't know what to do. Get a nice new rear (i really can't afford it) or get a used 10-bolt and drive easy. Or sell the car.

Sell the car! J/K . The one reason I'm glad I got an A4 this time is because of that 10 bolt.....

This crap makes me want to. I have done a lot of expensive stuff here lately. Rebuilt transmission, new clutch, and now here's a broken 10-bolt. I'm begining to wonder what else there's left to replace.

I have enough to buy one right now. It's just that if things keep breaking, I won't have any money left. I have about 4,000-5,000 max right now. It's money I'd rather not spend though.

Yeah I just always thought they broke on the launch. I guess the new clutch, ported tb, and ud pulley took it over the top.

if you got the $, get the new rear. buying a used 10-bolt is borrowed time. it would be a waste of a few hundyt when youd prolly get a 12bolt/ 9 in eventually. Also, doesn't the car have a lot of miles??? whatd you expect??? i agree with you, $ id rather not spend, but hey, at least you have it. my .02

I agree, its going to be the same thing again sooner or later if you buy another 10 bolt. Id just pick up a used 12 bolt on the boards for like $1500 or so and call it a day. No sense in patching the problem.
