Default Which torque arm should I go with??

Random, BMR, Edelbrock.. which is the best? factors in order of importance..

1. Quiet as possible
2. Performance and Quality

Thoughts on these would be appreciated

I hear the LG arm is quite quiet. Very high quality piece as well. The Random Tech arm is adj. and VERY well proven. Colonel I believe still uses this torque arm. I think its fairly quiet as well.

I'm using the BMR torque arm. The quality is real good & I've had no problems/noises etc. coming from it.

The BMR and Random Tech are pretty much the same unit accept the price. Can't go wrong with either..

Spohn is stronger than both and excellent quality.

Actually, the stock TA is really fine until you get into the 10's........no problem so far with mine.

I can't say ANYTHING bad about this Random Tech.

1. It's %100 quiet. I mean JUST as quiet as stock.

2. It's easily adjustable.

3. It's plenty strong enough. It's one of the few things that I haven't managed to hurt yet.

Steve u modded yours to fit a separate mount?
So its not a STOCK version of the random anymore,Correct?

Jay Fishers,Madman,Spohn,BMR, and the Dick Miller
They all r good tq arms...

I liked the way jays mounts to the custom crossmember not to the g-load area.BMR does the same thing as does madman and dick miller.

All of them r good arms..
Random is good too but can break off the trans.

No, it's just as Random Tech made it. %100 unmodified. It has the original mount in the original place with the original bushing.

I would have stated if I had changed it even in the slightest.

Just like it did to the 4L60-E thanks to Yank's excellent conversion kit.

Hmmm.. so im a little confused.. would it (Random) be pretty quiet as stock on a M6 car??

Looks like its a toss-up between the two (BMR and Random)..

No, I didn't modify the bar in ANY way (haven't seen any reason to.) As I said before, it's just as Random Tech built it. I've been running it almost since the car was new.

Why would anyone think I've changed it? Why would I need to?

I really dont know Steve
The concensus was that u did something to the end of it or modded how it attached. There was a post along time ago.Well u cleared it up.

No flames, just more curious than anything.
Looks like this is good tq arm since its adjustable and quiet. Most of the others r gonna make noise for sure.

If your worried about noise I'd opt for a Random.
Steve's making more HP than most so we know its STRONG.

yes, the random tech arm is completly as quiet as stocker with a poly bushing and doesnt give any more vibrations. why? because the end is completly isolated by the bushing just like a stock arm.

fwiw i am going to run a Madman arm this year. i had a random tech arm last year with no real problems, but it did end up molesting the tranny bracket pretty bad, and cracked the floorpan in two places from the force pushing up on the tranny crossmember. the ability to adjust instant center and the subframe mounting of the madman arm are what attract me the most as well as the strength of it of course.

as for stock arms i bent that pretty bad, and i have also used a Mac arm before. dont even think about using one of those peices of crap
