Question What is the best differential out there

I am in the process of getting a new rear end. I wanted to know the best one to get and what mods I would need for them and what applications work best. Already contemplating a CF driveshaft. Let me know what you guys think.

Ford 9" with a Detroit Locker is just about bullet proof.

9" Soft Locker 31 spline. Now if Strange could figure out how to put one together that worked that would be a real plus. I have a local shop rebuiling my Strange for the third time. Strange couldn't get it right the first two times.Total ********.

Installed the Moser 9" early this year.
Ordered it with the following options.........
3.70 "Race Cut" Gears (Getting a 4.56 Race Only setup)<---Take 30 minutes to swap out
4-Channel for ABS and Traction Control
33 Spline Axles
Posi Diff
Aluminum Center Section
Drain Plug----Yeah, You have to specify it.
1350 Yokes

Will be able to handle more than my Pockets will be able to throw at it!

Yeah, kinda funny to run a Ford design in a Chevy but what the heck. I was at the All Ford Day at the local track last week (they had a T&T lane open for non-Fords) & was the only Chevy there along with a 69 Barracuda & a couple of imports. The Ford guys were cool with me & the 'Cuda because we both had 9" setups. It's not actually a Ford manufactured rear though as all the parts were new from Moser & Detroit Locker. The Ford rears do not bolt up, but an aftermarket 9" built for an F-Body does. The Ford center sections will probably bolt into the aftermarket housings.

I think you meant to say FOUR-channel for abs and traction control?

Watch out for CF driveshafts...Fred (Injuneer) a mod on cz28.com broke one driving from one shop to another...he was at 700hp, but he wasn't getting on it...Look at CM or steel...

I'll admit, it seems the 9" is the toughest diff there is, BUT, I remember one night at the track, a guy in an El Camino blew his 9", and EVERYBODY was razzing him, saying that's what he gets for running Ford parts in his Chevy!!

Yes they can be broke. I believe this one had a defect in my SS. It blew chunks of the case through the floor boards.
