You should also check you fluid level just to make sure. Has it been changed lately?
If lowering the shift points and raising the rev limiter doesn't fix the problem then it might be time for a performance rebuild. Try some Alto clutches, and a kevlar band.

About $320 for the parts but the labor could vary WILDLY! Better do your homework on finding a really good tranny shop. You'll need one one day.
BTW, I fried my first 4L60-E with 5500 miles on the clock on a 125 shot.
