Cost to rebuild stock 10 bolt
i got a bad axle bearing on the passenger side of my T/A. since i need to get it changed, i figure i better go ahead and change all the bearings, seals, and anything else needed. I will also be gettin a better diff cover. what is the cost for the parts, and what would the typical labor cost be? id like to do it myself, but IDK if i can. also, if my axle is shot cause of the bad bearing, what axles should i upgrade to, or should i stay with stock?

save your money and get a 12 bolt, but if you want to keep the 10 bolt, you can get moser axles and diff cover. as for rebuilding the stock 10 bolt you could spend about 400-500. thats why I would reccomend the 12 bolt.

its not a matter of it holding up. i have to get it fixed soon, this mf is howling like crazy(passenger wheel bearing). i just want to fix it up good enough to last me till i can come close to affording a 12 bolt.

You should be fine with the factory 10 bolt beings it's an automatic. I don't know what it would cost exactly to have it rebuilt but you can buy good used ones for around $300 so I wouldn't pay anymore than that for it.

sometimes not everyone can afford to get a 12 bolt or 9". Sometimes your gonna have to put money into something to get you by till you can afford something else...im in that boat...for now
