Wouldn't it make more sense to unbolt the calipers without disconnecting the brake lines?

I unbolted the calipers and pulled the rotors and stuff. I'm talking baout where the hard lines go to the calipers and turn into hose... theres a nut there, if ipull it off all hell will drain loose. I don't like messes. I was wondering if theres another way to pull them off w/o undoing that nut.

It looks like you are doing this on jack stands and not on a lift, if all you did was lift up the rear end without lifting the front you will lose very little brake fluid, this is what I did when I pulled my rear end when instaliing 4.10s. I still had to bleed the rear brakes, but I lost barely any brake fluid.

well the bracket that holds that hardline to the softline is attached at the back lca mount on the rearend... it comes off with some pretzeling maneuvers after removing the rear lca bolt.

also there are a few metal clips you unbend, and 1 bolt holding in a bracket then you can pull the hardlines loose of the rear on the rear while leaving the calipers connected.

I got the old one out and the new one in with no serious problems other than changing out the ujoint on the driveshaft.

We had to get meineke to remove it for us with their acetlyene torch because we were heating the driveshaft in the wrong spot with our propane torch...

the finished product came out looking good. I just need to rebend the hardlines to the new rearend and ill be good to go on a clean install!
