I want to see how many people have broken the stock 10 bolt that came in their car. What mods you had, what the car weighed, what 60' times you were pulling, what gears and tires you had, and what broke. What did you do to fix the problem.

car - 2001 bolt on M6
weight - 3250 lbs. (about)
60' times - low 1.7's
gears - 3.42's
Tires - ET streets
what broke - driver side axle
Fix - 12 bolt with 4.11's <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

what broke - spider gears
Fix - replaced diff myself. $99 later was back on the road.

I broke it on a shift, not on a launch. Thanks to the twin disk clutch.

-Fix- Got Smart And bought a Locker. LockRite to be exact!!!

Couldnt Stand the locker, felt Flex out the wazoo!! Car wouldnt go Straight, Guess the
10 bolt flexed too much. Sold it to a buddy. He Broke it the SAME WEEKEND!! HEHE his car 2000 Z cam-headders. So i guess i didnt Break this one!!??

-tires-STREET Tossed the nitto's to prolong the break!!!!
-what Broke- Richmods 4.10's broke 3!! Yes 3!! teeth of the pinion gear!!!!! WOW Just couldnt let that ricer smoke me. This was the FIRST time i got on it since last break. Still saving for a 12 bolt cant break now!!!! Broke on a 2-3 shift
-Fix- well had to sit for tree more weeks till i had the $$ then more time till rear came in. But the Moser 12 bolt, 33spline, Eaton HD, 1350 yolk, 4.30 gears... Should do the trick and Fix my problem...
all this was in a 6 Month period. NO JOKE!!!!

3.42 gears, stock rear end
what broke: driver side axle and 2 spider teeth off auburn diff. this was on BFG DR's leaving from 3 grand at the track.
fix: bought a whole rear end from a 97 camaro ss came with the HIGH TORQUE zexel

2nd time
4.10 gears, slp upgraded high torque zexel torsen
what broke: the whole damn diff grenaded broke all the little worm gears and broke the carrier in half, this was on a 1-2 shift. i also had et streets on!
fix: at last Moser alloy axles, eaton carrier with the carbon fiber clutch packs and a new set of motive 4.10's

i have 20 track passes on et streets pulling low 1.8's at 2200 elevation and the rear end is stil intact!!!!!

Bird man,

You know about my rear end but , I will list the stuff for you again.

4:10 gears the 1st time, Moser 12 bolt & 4.56 the 2nd time.
Lanuch rpm 4,000 both times
Broke on the launch both times, axle the 1st time, posi the 2nd time.

No more problems, we put a spool in. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

if and when i grenade my 7.5 eaton carrier i will let yall know.. but so far its holding up pretty well .. and the moser alloy axles seem to be cool too..

this is 15-20 5000+rpm clutch drops with et streets at a drag strip

so far not a bad fix for slightly modded cars..
270 for the axles to my door and the carrier you can now pick up for 325

2000 SS convertable 3900lbs. with my fat a** and a full 15 lb bottle. low 1.70's all year best after a converter install 1.60 didn't totally break just didn't feel safe with it (long walk home). Moser 9" 3.89 gear locker 35 spline axles aluminum center section billet center support abs and trac. control. Also bmr lca lowering brackets. I don't think I will break this.

I broke two gears, both from powershifting and driving abusively, neither time was at the track. I broke the 4.10 on a 1-2 powershift streetracing another car.

I have a Moser 9" in my 98 Formula. I have had a used posi go out, but my current setup is a soft locker and 4.10 and it works flawlessely. I cut 1.51 with this setup.
