My F@#*in tranny is broke AGAIN
Well I'll make a long story short. Last year my STOCK tranny **** the bed after 2 years in the car. It lasted almost 1 racing season. I had it rebuilt with ALL HP parts. Steel bands Kolene this and borg warner that. Now today on the way home it **** the bed. I put the car in 1st gear and it was locked. No moving just revving. I put it in D and it moved with lots of resistance. I got it home and then the Temp gauge headed way hot. I shut it down and checked all the fluids. Tranny fluid is RED and full. Oil is clean and full. I then let the car idle for 15 minutes in park and no overheating. I guess that iy was overheating because of the tranny. I also tried reverse and when I put the shifter in R I hear NO CLUNK like it's shifting. I would like any help. Please I am at my wits end.

Bear,
Sounds like something in the trans was or is slipping to send your engine temp up so high. If indeed the car was not moving or responding to a gear selection and your trans is full, then I would be almost positive that the trans did burn up. BTW Mike, He is running a trans cooler. If you want, have the car delivered here and I will get it fixed for you Bear. And I do have the backing plates now.

JS, you should know better than to solicit your business on this site without being a sponsor, especially since a sponsor (JPR) has already replied. Business ethics Joel, think about it. I know you want to help, but it looks bad in taste here.

Tony I'm very sorry.I deleted the post.
Truely,I wasnt trying to grab someones slice of the pie or step on ANY sponsers toes.I was trying to help,It wont happen again Tony.
FWIW,the JS VS JPR BS in done!!!!
Joe and I talked last week and worked out are differences.I wouldnt try and dis him in ANYWAY. He is VERY capable of getting Bears trans done correctly.Like I said,I was just trying to help BEAR.I know the BS and frustration that goes on with a bad box.I wish him the best.
Again my apologies to LS1 TECH.

Well the car is being flatbedded to Joes. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Sad]" src="gr_sad.gif" /> Looks like the car will be down for a month or so. I am having the rear put in, Macs put on and now another new tranny. This car is one big damm money put. <img border="0" alt="[guns]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_guns.gif" /> I am very hopeful that when all is said and done that it runs better than before. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Confused]" src="images/icons/confused.gif" /> See u guys in a month. Heya Bear Don't stress too much over it big guy! It's just the price to pay for going fast.. it's frustrating, but it will be all worth it when you and Kim get the car back and run a new best. Between the new rear and tranny, you will finally be able to run the car like it should be run- and then you will do some of this <img border="0" alt="[Firebird]" title="" src="graemlins/formula.gif" /> and this <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />
