Default 10 bolt took a crap

I decided to go to the track today with some friends . I had 3 runs in the left lane and it wouldnt hook in first to save its life . So i decided to try the right lane and try to bogg of the line with my mt et streets and i didnt even make it off the line . Looks like it is time for a 9in or a 12 bolt any suggestions on which way i should go . I know i want either 4.10 or 4.11 gears .

M6 or A4? M6= 9", A4= 12 bolt.......... however, if you are spraying on an A4, you might wanna consider the 9" also as it is stronger

How much heavier is the 9 compared to the 12 bolt . It doesnt really matter to me mine is a pig anyhow . I heard you loose some power with the 9in can someone explain why? I will look into drive line solutions and see about a price .

heavier rear = more parasitic drivetrain loss. however, the added weight will help you hook up better so you should theoretically see relatively no change in ET, possibly better since you won't be wheel-hopping as bad as with a 10-bolt.

Though I'm not sure how long yours might last (with running DRs) I've been running hard on 8.5" 10-bolt with around 440 hp at the crank for about a year now. Had a Powertraxx give up the ghost. Just trying to help with the decision about which ways to go without trying to add confusion.

The pinion position (further away from the ring gear centerline) causes the additional power loss but gives the rear additional strength. A compromise in design! I've heard 1 - 2 % loss!

i can handle a little loss in power as long as i dont have to go through with this again . The 4.10s will help make up for the power loss and help my et more than the stock 3.42s i had in the 10bolt. I still dont know which way im going yet 9in or 12bolt

The 4.11s should drasticly help with my et and especially my 60 foot . remeber my 10bolt was stock with 3.42s .

so 10 bolts have a tendency to wheel hop more than a 9in or 12bolt ? I have lcas and relocation brackets so with either rear i get should be alot better in the wheel hop department right?
