Default 3.46 gears ?

Has anyone heard of any GM cars having these gears? Someone on the local board that I am on said that a GTO had these gears. I have personally never heard of them. Anybody else heard of them ?

they have the independent rear suspension, not the normal 7.5in rearends like fbodies. that's why they offer different gear ratios.

The differant gear set is because of the size of the diff. The size of the ring gear limits the number of teeth on the ring and pinion. It is a Dana rear.

Not really. I have bought a KAAZ unit, BMR stubs, Harrop cover, 3.91's, and will be instaling while my car is stored for the winter. Once installed, and a good set of adjustable shocks, and Pedders springs are in. This car should be really strong, and hook up well.
