Will the 10bolt hold up 400-450rwhp.

Will the 10bolt hold up 400-450rwhp. Want to go with a new h/c setup and just wondering if the rear will hold up w/ about 400-450rwhp on just n/a. I would like to also spray. I have a TA girdle to help a lil. I also going to get a adj torque arm.

if you have street tires and dont launch you shoudl be good. I have ran street tires on my setup for about a year and a half now but never launched it. No traction is good with a stock rear. Otherwise, the girdle wont do anything for you, the rear is still weak when you try to put the power to the pavement and hook up.

Perhaps I've had extraordinary lucky, but I've gone north of 700 rwhp and run as quick as 10.40 at 133 mph on a 1.52 60' and as fast as 143 mph in the quarter and I've only broken 1 set of gears in the last 5 years. And I beat on the car at least weekly.
That said, I'm tired of worrying about the dang thing and am building a 9" as we speak.

Some last some don't! My friend still has his and he is over 400RWHP with an auto and Mine just went out and mine is a BONE stock auto. But if you have a 6 speed there is a slim to none chance it will live

On my 6th pass of the day on Saturday, my stock 10 bolt with 4.10's decided it was time to take a vacation. Luckily I had a trailer with me.
It did make it through 3 1.92 60's, but on the last one I tried to launch a little to high.

I've been consistently making 1.7s 60ft on MT and still holding up. I guess i just have to make a saving account for a new 12bolt. I'm going to a second job so the money I make is strictly for the car. Just hope I have enough saved when i does take a ****.

An auto vs a manual, the autos rear end will last longer due to the fact that you're preloading the suspension, whereas in the manual you are not. Bid difference.

You've got an auto, you might be ok. If you had a 6 speed it would be ok unless you got traction. Then it would be borrowed time if not instant fatality with a 5500 rpm 450 rwhp launch. IMO I didnt want to take the chance and not be able to sell the rear so I yanked it out before I got real serious at the track.

Since I sell a ton of Moser rears, I hear a lot of how the stock 10 bolts get to be broken. One guy had a bone stock M6 Camaro that we was just out bangin gears. Normally it is the stick cars that break the 10 bolts the easiest, as has been mentioned. Bob

lmao at all of these replies. 568ftlbs of tq and my 10bolt is still holding up. A couple 1.7 60fts, many many 1.8s, pretty much spraying right out of the hole. 10bolt is still back there.
People are always talking about "if" and "when". I do recall thinking like that myself at one time. Then I noticed, "hey guess what" I have 440+hp/568tq and I am still on the 10bolt. I have some local friends one cam only with spray, and one with heads/cam/spray, both with more power than me...yup you guessed it still on the 10bolt.
You do a 5k clutch dump at the line on some sticky tires you have a chance of breaking multiple parts, not just the rear.
Dont get me wrong, that power has to go somewhere, thats why I am a clutch riding expert.
