1LE Trans Mount People quick question
Is this just cause the New trans Mount sits a bit higher or should this not be happening

I broke the one on my '01 Firehawk, within 3000 miles. I replaced it wiht a poly one from Energy Suspnsion, no problems, yet.
THe 1lE mount should look like it has metal tabs on the outside to interlock the t metal plates. these limit the amount of engine/trans movement. The rubber is between them.
After 3000 miles, the rubber was completely sheared, and the metal tabs were wearing into eachother.
I also had my torgue arm "cut" entirely through my stock torque arm bushing. Relpcaed wiht ploy, and the mounting bracket bolts were broken within 1 month.

LT1 mounts are taller. How about getting that part number off of there already?
The 1LE mount you put on should look EXACTLY like your old one. Just a little harder compound.
So get it off and get the correct one on there. This happened a while back to another forum member. He got the LT1 mount and it sounds like you did too. Just call SLP and get one.

When I installed my 1LE mount (SLP p/n 60005) I also noticed that it fit in both ways. However, in one direction the metal top wedged up against the transmission housing, preventing the mount from sitting completely flush against the trans. I did try the mount both ways just to be sure (my stock '00 mount had the tabs and looked quite a bit different), but when installed "backwards" the crossmember didn't fit up right. Seems like if you were able to assemble it without issue that it would be in there correctly.
Are you using more than one washer under the new nut? I first assembled mine with only a single washer, but found it severely bent up after the first test drive. I ended up having to use two thick (and they have to be oversize - use the stock nut as a template) washers with the new nut to keep them intact. Could this be your problem? If the stud's mounting to the crossmember was loose or the washers were "deformed" it could allow excessive trans movement.

Hmmm... I had no problem like you describe after I installed mine and it sounds like you took all the proper steps. Assuming the mount isn't defective I can only imagine that its attributable to someting else (which seems suspicious considering it appears to have started when you installed it). Maybe you can try to re-install the stock mount and see if it clears up
