Default Torsen diff and aluminum parts for 9"

NO DRAG RACING (get that out of the way first )

I did a search about the Torsen and people SEEM to really like it for road racing and auto-x. I'm about to build up a 3-link 9" for my Camaro (I finally sold the 12bolt and torque arm) and need a good diff. I like the idea that there are no springs and friction plates in the Torsen to burn out (gears = good in my book). The car is never taken out in the rain but is driven on the street. Noticed everyone said "call Sam about one" so I'll probubly do that but wanted more input (never hurts).

Also (save some thread counts), I'm planning to use Richmands light weight gears (where they back cut the ring gear), Moser's thru-bolt aluminum center section, Moser's aluminum Datona pinion support, and an aluminum yoke. I'm trying to cut rotating weight as much as possible (am going with 28 spline axles also). Any issue with running all these "light weight parts"?

The Moser through bolt case will not except a differential, it was designed for a spool only. But with some modification I'm sure that can be done. If you get a chance check out the vendor sale section. We are having a sale on the assemblies you are asking for.
The preloaded Truetrac seems to be the differential of choice for road racing and street driving.

What is this "with some modification" you mention?

Any input on my idea for all the aluminum stuff?

old thread. But I run a Ford racing Torsen in my 8.8" axle.

It drives fine under all conditions, and Ive no real complaints about its performance on the track.

How much can you increase the bias by preloading the True Trac??

Quick look on Moser's site and the aluminum case is offered as a $140 option, as is the trutrac, auburn etc.. It would be nice if they said "spool only" but it doesn't. I'm curious as well what modifications would be required.

Yeah, sorry about that, I should've known the Cortinas ended long before that. But open up the dictionary to "super-sleepers", and your Granada is the picture!!
