Default Need Trans Pan Deepened

I need someone that is beautiful with sheetmetal work, to deepen my stock 4L60E transmission pan to hold an extra 2 quarts, and to also had a drain plug. I would also be interested in having some internal baffles added, also. I do not want any of the heavy cast aluminum trans pans, because I'm not gonna' pay that kinda' money, and I just don't need something like that. The stock pan is lighter and can be customized to work better. Thanks for any help. No, I do not drag race.

Why not get the 6.0L truck pan? It’s got a drain plug and it holds about 2 quarts more fluid. That’s the one I’m using. They are like $40 to $60 from a GM dealer. Same metal thickness and general design as the F-body 4L60E pan. Gotta use the truck filter too then.

Thanks dude!
I didn't know about that. Have you had good luck with yours. When I go to the dealer, what exactly am I supposed to ask for? What are the part numbers? I imagine I'll need a new pan gasket to.

Yeah mine has been great! No leaks or issues. I’m not exactly sure how much extra it holds, but it’s quite a bit deeper and it’s gotta be holding between 1-2 quarts more fluid. I haven’t changed the fluid yet because I just got this pan with the new trans back in April so I’m not sure exactly how many it holds yet.

Sorry I don’t have the part number because I got it from my trans guy at the same time as the trans, but he said he orders them for a 2000 6.0L Suburban and that I should use that to order new filters too. He had the tranny a little over filled when I got it back and I had to drain some fluid, and ended up striping the drain plug bolt head trying to use a 12-point socket (6-point is needed). I went to a GM dealer and ordered a new trans pan drain plug for the ’00 6.0L Suburban and it was the same plug, so I’m sure that’s the pan.

I was at the local dealer today picking up a filter kit, and the parts guy suggested getting the truck pan, also.
BTW, anyone noticed filter kits going up in price? I paid about $30 today for one, I could swear they were only around $15 1 1/2 yrs ago.

what filter kit are you guys talking about? When you buy the deeper pan, do you use the same gasket as the stock one or do you use the truck one?

The filtered pickup tube has to be longer.

The pan/gasket kit is #24215535 and the filter/gasket kit for that pan should be #24208576.

The pan is $56 from ANY dealership and the filter is around $35........total $91.

...or one other option is to call Vandevere Olds and ask for a guy named Dal *** 1-800-362-9494. Pan/37.63 Filter/26.50 and shipping should be less than $8.

I'm sure one of our beloved GM parts sponsors would be happy to match that price as well!
