Default Raytech crush collars for Moser noise?

I had a tech guy tell me about Raytech crush collars and that kills the whine or noise of the moser 12 bolt. Have any of you guys heard of this?

You mean a solid sleeve as opposed to a crush sleeve? People use them on 10-bolts with some success...the only disadvantage I've been able to come up with is that it takes more time and precision to set up.

Setup is what kills noise. Hard spacers only make
the setup stay set up, by not further deforming
under hard use.

On a same-gears setup you can mic your old crush
collar and assemble the shim-stack to match, and
get very close or dead on to the needed height.
Save some time anyway.

But the collar itself, does nothing in particular for
day-one whining. Only next month's.

Assuming, of course, that it is set up properly already! I just took mine apart and found that the preload was so tight that I couldn't turn the pinion with my bare hand. No wonder the bearings got chewed up so fast...
I bought a 0-60 in-lb torque wrench to get it set up properly with new bearings and a solid spacer. Doing it myself this time to make it right!
