Does anybody make one. I was wondering if there was the same set up as a TH400 but with 6 speeds instead of 4. Or even 5 speeds. I was wondering or do you have to buy a Lenco to get the 6 speed ratchet shifter like prostock runs.

I dont know of any 6 speed autos... i know of only one domestic made 5 speed auto, and thats the allison tranny, truck tranny, too big for our cars... You could always try a Gear Venders Overdrive... that would take your stock 4 speed and make it basically an 8 speed, with each gear having an overdrive.. dont think it will help you much though, and it probably wont fit under our cars.

Yeah i was just wondering. I was sitting around yesterday watching drag racing on TV and they showed prostock shifting. Figured a 6 speed would be fast and cool as hell to have in a daily driver. You get 6 speeds for good gas mileage and then six gears for the strip. Hook those up with some 4.56s in back and you have yourself one hell of a weekend warrior.

any 3-speed auto with a gear venders o/d will give you a six speed auto. with the gv o/d you can split each gear you have. and yes, the gv o/d will fit under our cars. its not a very big unit.

With a swing to more RWD GM cars and upscale trucks, a new family of 5 or even 6 speed autos to replace the aging 4L60/65E and 4L80E makes sense. BMW's new 7 series has a neat ZF 6-sp auto that smaller and has fewer parts than the 5-sp it replaces.
I can see paddle shifters, a couple of performance modes, and more. At least, that's what I'd like for my auto Vette. There's still time to make the Cadillac XLR (based on Vette platform), I'd guess...or hope, anyway.
My $02.

Yeah the Lenco street is pretty much the same price as all their other products. And since their transmissions run a person all the body parts then need to run a car (arms and legs), i am looking for a strong but not bullet proof alternative.
