Default Trutrac trouble

Pulled cover off my strange 12 bolt to change fluid tuesday, big suprise my truetrac is cracked.

Called eaton tech and sent photos, their response break off cracked part with a vise grip and run the diff

This is the same tech line that before I bought the diff told me I wouldnt have a problem and if I did they would look after me.

I'll post a link to photos. It will be a long time before I buy anything Eaton.

Looks pretty sucktastic to me.... that's a kinda thin wall
and I wonder if it's structural or just for looks (re the Vise-
Grip advice)?

Tech told me its meant to align case and cover, still if it's cracking and they get into ring and pinion.

At this point I don't trust anything they say, even wondering if engagement on splines is right.

Thats the only pic I could find, and it doesn't help show how structural that part of the housing is.

I notice you're making some pretty stout power. Tough to have them warranty something like that. Although I agree it's bullshit that it failed. That's some crazy tech support...

Did you try calling back on another day and talking to someone else? The guy you talked to is obviously a dipshit.

The guy I talked to was there before Eaton bought them out, before Eaton buyout he assured me I wouldn't break it and after seeing photos he admitted it wasn't a install or abuse problem it's a defect. Still no product support?.

This 12 bolt diff is the only aftermarket item on my car that has all these issues.
I have a stock t56 trans np, spec mcloud clutchs np, linknfelter alum driveshaft np.

WTF, so he openly admitted that it looked to him to be a manufacturing defect? You've got to try and get someone else on the line, did you buy the unit directly from Detroit/Eaton?

Admitted to the fact it wasn't anything I did, I guess if you buy anything from these companys you have to use and abuse it quick so they can't use the "your past your one year warranty" exuse.

I called truetrac for the part number on a diff for strange 12 bolt. I bought the diff from Moser and I called them first but was told decision was eaton's.

Cracked piece off and put diff back in, whats the worst that could happen if another piece breaks off.

If they said they would take care of you, they should keep their word.
