Difference between spool and mini spool

Difference between spool and mini spool I know a spool wont work on the street because the stress of turns will eventually break it. But i have no idea what a mini spool is. Is it just a small spool but still the same idea so that means no street use.

Re: Difference between spool and mini spool A mini spool is the same except it goes in your factory carrier where a full spool replaces your carrier.I have drove a spool on the street I doubt you will break it.
Re: Difference between spool and mini spool A mimi spool goes inside the differential where the spider gears are to lock the axles. Most mini spools are designated for circle track only probably cause the can't handle the shock loads of drag racing the way a full spool can. Either one you're gonna have to exercise extreme caution if driven on the street

I drive a full race spool and 5.13 gears on the street with no problems at all. If you have a M6 Hot Rod and drag race at the track you need to get a spool. Just my 2 cents. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

Re: Difference between spool and mini spool How much do you drive yours on the street. I was going to go with 4.56 gears and a spool is cheaper than posi. Do you get the problem with the back tires skipping around turns. I drive my car almost every day for an average of 40 miles so will it hold up. Even if it doesnt i could just keep replacing it cause they dont cost much.

Re: Difference between spool and mini spool Yeah i am starting from the back then working my way up. First the rearend then probably heads and cam. Then a TH400 with a line lock.
