I was able to lift mine off our company truck and into my garage 50 feet away without too much trouble. Definitely a bit heavier than a 10-bolt though.

I haven't fully assembled my 9" yet so I haven't picked it all up at once to have an idea of comparison, but after weighing out the individual pieces of my 9" (strange aluminum center section), it is 181lbs not including the nuts/bolts, which would probably add another 5lbs or so.

I dont know about a 12 bolt but my 9 inch was 207, thats narrowed 4 inches over all so that should cut a couple of lbs off, but i have a back brace welded on there that probably evens the weight out from being narrowed, my stock rear was 141, talk about fun I put the 9 inch in the car by myself, carried it out of my blazer into my garage, probably only 30 feet and put it on a floor jack to lift it up in there, I picked it up again to weight it after I had it on there. I will never move it again with the axles and everything on there its a lot to handle.

lol

That 141 sounds about right for the stock rear. I weighed mine at 138, but that didn't include the cover bolts

None of my weights listed here have backing plates included, they were another 13.5lbs or so.

Mike decided to have us remove his Moser 12 bolt and install a Moser 9 inch rear in it's place. Mike's car is at the horsepower level to where the 12 bolt may not handle the close to 700 rwhp, and the nine inch is a stronger unit. We ordered this 9 inch with a spool, and an aluminum center unit.
We weighed the Moser 12 bolt after we removed it, and it weighed 188 pounds. The Moser 9 inch with the spool and the aluminum center section, weighs 181.5 pounds, lighter than the 12 bolt!!!!

Being that my rear was just reassembled last week, everything except brake hardware, but had the tq arm still attactched. That thing with fluid was a mother **** to carry. I am a pretty strong guy and the other one helping me isnt a weakling either.

It was HEAVY.

No, the 12 bolt was a truetrac, so it is not comparing the same things. That was mentioned in this build-up that I created, but I didn't copy that section, as I was going for the weight of the 12 bolt here.
A 12 bolt with a spool would be lighter than the nine inch with a spool, but I'd opt for the nine inch. Bob
