Default currie 12 bolt, anybody using one??????

is anybody using a currie 12 bolt? i was thinking of getting a moser 12 bolt, but a friend of mine suggested the currie. went to the web site and it appears that the diff. is much cheaper than a moser 12 bolt. i don't plan on racing a lot, just your basic change of a week 10 bolt, for piece of mind. gonna put it in a 2000z-28 with 4channel abs. any thoughts would be greatly appreciated???

Are you sure they make one for the 82-02 F-body rear suspension? If not, that might be why they are cheaper since they are made for cars that were originally 12-bolt capable.

Man that's awesome I've looked for cheaper alternatives before myself. I'm sick of breaking 10 bolts. I find it strange that we can't find anyone using one though.

The only Currie that I've ever seen in person was a 9-inch rear on Travis Garner's 2002 Trans Am - Travis had been known for breaking every single thing on his car, but that rear end actually held up to his abuse. I don't know of anyone who has tried their 12-bolt, but if it works as well as their 9", it is probably pretty good.

I just checked their site, the Stage II (abs equipped): "...a new 12 bolt housing with all of the stock Camaro suspension brackets mounted including torque arm mount, and the large bearing 9" Ford style housing ends installed..."
I went through all the options, it was around 1700 if I read things correctly.
There was a disclaimer: "The rearend assemblies listed below represent a few examples of available packages and combinations. These examples are provided as a reference guide only. Actual prices will very depending on final options and specific components chosen."
I did notice that the example used a 30 spline axle, which is probably less than optimal. Personally, I would also want a 1350 yoke, which may not be available...
I wonder why no one else is using this? I would hate to spend that much money just to find out that it was not strong enough...

They don't market their product very well, but they've been around for a long time.

I went back and found it, but I came up with ~$2500 by the time you add all the parts in. I think the deal you were looking at had no dif, gears, blah, blah. I will double check

EDIT: I just called Currie and they do not offer a 12 bolt for a 82 and up F-body. And the cheapest 9" package was $2657.
