Rear end fluid?
Rear end fluid? I am going to drain/ refill my rear end soon and i was wondering what ot fill it back up with? Should i just use the same gear oil, get a synthetic gear oil, or maybe use GM syncromesh?...Any input or opinions are appreciated!

torsen's web site says you don't need the additive, though it might run a little quieter, but won't affect durability either way.

FWIW, Synchromesh is transmission fluid... not differential.

just did this on 4/30/07, 2 bottles of castrol synthetic and 2 bottles of Gm additive @ 6$ each.
and get the additive, it quiets the rear it A LOT, huge differance with and w/o it.

FWIW, most synthethics, such as the Royal Purple, already have the additive. Check the side of the bottle. If you go with a natural, which requires the additive, you only need one bottle. The additive, which is called limited slip additive, is available at the parts store.
