back sits WAY higher after 9" install..??
So we got the 9" fully installed today and made sure everything is tight so I lowered it down off the lift and now I have a huge gap between my tires and the rear fender well. I dont understand why, is the common after a 9" install. The only thing I can think of is I dont have my control arm relocation weld in brackets on. I dont see how that could effect the way the rear sits that much though. The springs are in correct the top sitting in the isolators like there suppose to and the bottom of the coils are exactly the same on left and right. Can my pinion angle affect the rear that much that it makes it sit higher. I eyeballed it on the lift and it looked good. I only was gonna put 15 miles on it to start the break in so it looked ok, thing is now that I think about it there was no load on the rear so I could have been totally wrong when setting it on the other lift where it doesnt put a load on the suspension.
Anyone got any tips for me. I have pro kit springs on and it used to sit pretty low, now with the 9" the rear sits pretty damn high. Thanks for any help or advice.

Yes
The outside diameter of the 9inch axletubes are bigger . You may be able to take the spring isolator out and slide some heater hose on the upper spring coil.
Next thing you will notice is the torque arm bracket will hit the bottom of the floor pan once it starts getting lowered. Mine punched through in a couple of places. So I redid my floor pan to accomodate.
Also the bumpstops will have to be trimmed if you need to go lower or you will be hitting them as you go over bumps.

so then this is common huh? Is there a different spring I can run to lower it some. I dont want to be as low as I was before anyway, I hate rubbing all the time I pull into a parking lot that has a incline or if I have someone else in my car and I take sharp corners. I just want it to come down a bit so I dont like a 4X4, I have a huge rake now and it looks pretty dumb.
Bigger wheels would help but I'd definitely have to lower the car some too. Id have to put 19's back there to take up the huge gap and that would look dumb as hell imo. Or get a whole new set.
Im prob gonna look into doing the heater hose mod.
Also, can control arms effect the ride hight at all, I wouldnt think so but since I dont have the weld on brakcets on I was wondering if that could effect anything?

We typically don't see much of a height difference when putting Moser 9 inch rears in these cars. The rear will go up a little, but not normally too much. I'd do the heater hose, which will help. Bob

Im gonna do the heater hose mod for sure when I get some time hopefully this week. Your guess is as good as mine why the rear sits so much higher now. It sits like as high as stock height.

LOL I was just thinking I put the stones to the LCA's when I reinstalled em and that was the reason it was sitting higher Guess I should take out the isolaters...never heard of this until now
The 28's MT DRAGS should fit fine tho...but it does look a lil 4x4ish with the 17" firehawks on there

well I didnt get a chance to do the heater hose mod today, but I will tomorrow. If I get a good inch out of it I think it will look ok. It has a pretty crazy rake now, lol. I dont want to be as low as I was before anyway so hopefully with a good solid inch it will look better. I'll post up some before and after pics.
