have fun with the backing plates if you have a 4 channel car.

If you don't have TCS then you only have 3 channel ABS to start with. Going to a 9" you have to get rid of the rear ABS since you can't put 3 channel on it from what I have read.

Not true, I have 4-channel and TCS on my 2000 SS.

If you have a traction control switch on the dash, you have ABS/TCS, which is called 4 channel. The connection into your rear-end would then by into the center unit of the rear. If the rear only has ABS, the connection is out by the brakes.
With a nine inch, ABS only is not an option. Many people still purchase nine inch rears for ABS only cars, they just can't hook up the ABS which takes you back to non ABS brakes at all four wheels. I personally prefer non ABS brakes myself. Bob

that was my major problem. other than that it was fairely smooth, clearance issue in the top of the housing and the bottom of my floor, it just pounded itself to fit but works good now.

had to cut \ reweld the backing plates. fab up a little bit of ****. pain in the ***.

i have the moser 9" with 4 ch abs setup. i retained all my abs and tcs without any issue at all.

i had nothing but troubles getting mine to center(front to back). i've gotten it to work, but it still seems to me that something moser did was wrong. the t/a wanted to sit too far foward, the stock length lcas(which were fine before) weren't even close to fitting. even the double adj. lcas that i bought didn't go short enough, i take another 3/4" out.

i bought the lower control arm location kit, i had no problems at all, then the proper u-bolts, and a adj torque arm and adj panhard.

it wasnt a problem to get it centered as long as you plan ahead and know what you need.

but it is a very very tight fit.

i'm not sure if your insinuating that i didn't use the proper parts, but i've done everything right and i still had to lop off 3/4" from the adj. control arms and shorten my adjustable t/a. not exactly a bolt in fit.

i've got lca relocation brackets made for the 9", sphon adj panhard, sphon adj t/a, sjm dbl adj lcas, and the drive shaft was still not engaged more than 1 7/8", whereas before it was closer to 2 1/2".....

i know plentyof folks haven't had any issues at all, and thats terrific. i also know that when i was having my problems i was contacted by a few people that were having similar issues. just throwing it out there that its possible

i definately had problems as well, its not at all a bolt in fit thats forsure.

looking back i would probabaly look into a 12 bolt, seems like it would fit a lot better.

I just got finished installing my new assembly and I have to shorten up my solid mounted TA about 1/2 inch. I had a first generation Moser housing with the fabricated TA mount, go figure...

Thumbs up

We have sold and installed many Moser ($240,000 this year so far) 9 inch rears without having these problems, so I would say it is far from common. Bob

Got mine from Bob at EPP about 4-6 weeks ago. Pulled out the ruined 10 bolt and put in the new 9" (4 channel) in my garage usings jackstands and floor jacks. Everything installed perfectly - lined up and centered. I do have adjustable PHR, LCA's, and torque arm but made no changes to any of them to get it installed. I did use brackets from Spohn to mount the rear sway bar instead of using 3" u-bolts.
