Default Shift kit or no?????

I have a ST-3500 in my car and an awesome tranny guy here in town said I should put one in my car. He said the way my car is set up, I might even gain a tenth in the 1/4. He said my shifts were sloppy. What do you all think, will a shift kit make that much difference? Trans Go shift kit do the trick or no? Will there be any gain? Thanks. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

I agree. Delete TQ management. Install a shift kit and a set of Alto cluthes. According to how bad your shifts are now you very well could pick up a half tenth to a tenth.

Does TQ Management hurt the tranny in the long run? What does it put stress on the most?

I would definitly install a shift kit to any auto it's benifits are cooler trans better clutch apply improved flow and if you run a higher stall converter it absorbs shift feel and adds heat so a shift kit is a must. Also add a trans cooler. As far as alto clutch's i would stay away from them my shop has built many performance transmissions from 900 hp supras blown big block's and everything between and we love the blue plates from raybestos and for 450 and less car you can run red devils.

Uhh, you do realize that in the case of the 4L60-E you only have 6 clutches when using Raybestos Blues but you have 9 when using Alto Reds, correct?

I agree that for most other applications the Blues are best but their superior friction material does not come close to making up for having %50 less apply area in the case of the 4L60-E.
