Default install my 9 inch

hey guys,

I have been hearing two stories. So now I am debating selling my 9 inch for my 02 Z28? What does a used one for?
I cant decide if I should install (its overkill for my bolt on car), keep it which then its probably better to just sell it.
any advice.

you got a 6speed? keep it... especially if you would put something like 3.73's in your stock rear... i did that, blew it within a month. i got a 12bolt, and looks good. haven't finished installing it though. waiting on some spacers.

horsepower difference you will never see. its only like 2 or 3 percent. the old type moser (or any manufacturer) rears with the stock type torque arm adapter bracket does definetly have clearance problems. i build a fabricated housing that the t/a is mounted to the top and bottom of the housing, and doesn't have any clearance issues.

Keep the 9". You will never have to worry about breaking the rear end and if you add more power later you will have a strong enough rear end to handle it all.

I agree, keep the 9 inch. If it is a Moser 9 inch, you have very minimal clearance issues. All we do is shove a pry bar up between the rear and the offending sheetmetal, and nudge the sheetmetal away from the rear. It takes all of five minutes, and you'll never notice where you pried it away from inside the car. Bob

how much is a complete 9'' from your shop? I saw the price for just the housing...but not a complete rear
