My S60 has taken a major beating at the track and on the street but I think on the new ride I want to try something different so that is why I am asking.

Sounds like the same setup I was looking into, How has it held up to the abuse? how is the gear noise? also do you keep your ABS and TCS?

I did not keep ABS/TCS either.

I've only been to the track once on slicks with 3 passes total. Gears started whining slightly after these passes. I don't think its that bad but my exhaust is really loud and no one has driven near me that I know that can listen to it. Seems to be only on decel though. I think I had brand new Mobil 1 gear oil full synthetic in it during the passes. I am probably going to try some Amsoil fluid when I step down to 3.90s.
I did not keep ABS/TCS either.

What gear set are you using? I am thinking of 3.50 3.73 or 3.90s for the new car.
I planned to wait until November, December to order one that would give a solid 3-4 months until I would need it to put into the car.

That seems to be the norm with any rearend. My s60 was quiet up until I hit a slick spot on the track and almost put it into the wall then it got loud but nothing unbearable.

Mine is 31sp, aluminum center, watts link, aluminum lcas. It is soooooo bad ***. The rearend is just so planted and confident under acceleration, corners great. It was so easy to install and adjust. I am extremely happy with what I got.
I did get a seperate ds loop because I have a long arm ta...it was a bit of a pita to install and I had to bend her pretty good to get it centered, but not a big deal....the love I feel for this rearend is considered sinful in several religions.

Use what the winner's rely on... MWC rearends and full front and rear suspension!
When you call and order a MWC rearend for your street car you get the exact same housing and torque arm components and fabrication work as these 200+ mph Outlaw Drag Radial cars run. Whether you are a daily driver, street/strip, autocross, or full on drag car you can rely on MWC for the highest quality, most experienced, and top notch customer service.

Last year my MWC rear was new, followed the break in instructions then tested it out. Totally quiet. After a few track outings I heard some gear noise, still worked great. This year changed my tire setup, had MT DRs on ZR1s, now have bias plys on 15 x 10s. My 60s are more consistent now(1.7s always) but not as good as last year on 17 inch DRs (PB 1.61) but I havent been to a well prepped track too often this year yet either. Gear noise now is very slight, not much at all. ABS & TCS work just like stock with the stock tires, with bigs & littles of course it makes all the lights come on the dash. Yesterday I lost the posi function & have the billet clutch style posi so that went out. Has 13,000 miles on it. Was a consistent 1.7 car on a **** track now cant launch the car, could hear the diff howling on my last pass. Will have to get the center section out & see whats wrong. Hate to do it for the street manners but considering putting a spool in it. I really wanted to go with a locker because theyre bulletproof but everyone says not with a M6. Happy with the rear end, its awesome when youre able to leave the line at just about any rpm you want without the rear grenading. Not too thrilled about the posi situation but I shouldve known when it was only $100 more than a spool.

Here is a pic of mine just before it was installed in June of 2008
The car was a Street/Strip car, and driven on the street with a spool and 4.56 gears.
The rear end is the same as the day I put it in except for fluid changes, a gear ratio change (I started spraying the car) and the addition of a drag anti-roll bar in 2010.
It has handled 9.5x@145 1.2x 60' times and launches like this with no problems

Clutch posi is ok for the price, it will get rebuilt & get reinstalled eventually. I stuck a spool in it for now because its cheap, I have been going to the track every weekend & there's no doubt both tires are turning now Not as fun on the street but its manageable. You learn to drive it differently.
