I almost done breaking in my gears. I have a true Trac and 4.11 gears and I have notice that there is a small wine from the gears. Is there anything that I can add to the oil when I change it to make that go away?? By the way what is the Oil recomended for True Trac after break in; I'm currenctly running for break in Royal Purple 80w-90w (the weight might be off can't remember)..
Thanks

How many miles did he told you to break it in with. I have currently 420 miles. Tha should be enough right??? the thing is that I currently have the car in jacks since I'm installing a EWP so I might just change the oil and come out with everything once I lower the car to kick ***..

I heated up and let it cool down. The next day beat on it a bit, just drag radial stuff on the street no clutch dumps with traction or anything. Its a little noisier then the old DLS rear I had in there but thats just the nature of race rears. Decel is way worse than accel....of course the engine maybe drowning it out a bit...

Major difference in what you can do and get away with on a 10bolt. Automatic vs 6 speed, the A4 has gone 10's on stock 10 bolts. I ran 1.89 60 fts on DRs with my 4.10 geared 10 bolt 6 speed, and I left at a whopping 3000, so 1.80's aren't even impressive by any stretch in drag racing, so you will need a rear end with a 6 speed to get consistent sub 1.60's without having that stomachy throw up feeling every time you leave the line.

Here you go.
standard, plain, regular 'ol parts store 80/90 gear lube... definetly no synthetics though.
do 3 heat cycles with regular street cruising driving... no sustained highway speed or launches. after minimum 3 heat cycles, then do whatever you like. heat cycle is from cool to full operating temp, then back to cool. usually 1-2 hours cool time.
after minimum 500 miles change out the gear oil. use whatever you like and what viscosity fits your needs.

and its only gonna get better! we have several new things coming up for the f-body and mustang market. we are just about caught up on the rearend orders and once we get a stock built up, then we will release the new parts. its gonna be a good off-season for everybody!
