Just got mine last week and like everyone has said before, these really are works of art and very well worth the wait.
I guess the trip from Illinois to Florida was a rough one for mine though, the FEDEX people definitely didn't show my stuff any love...both the crate holding the housing and the box w/ the third member in it both look like they were put through the tumble dry cycle of a dryer. On my housing crate, the axle tube broke through the wood protruding about 4" outside, and my third member box looked like it was attacked by rats. I literally thought I was gonna find a dead one in there somewhere when I opened it. There's numerous scratches on both my housing and third member Had I not waited so long for everything I probably wouldn't have signed for it. I don't know why, probably due to the combination of anger/excitement at the same time, but I didn't take pics of the damage to the crate before I opened it to inspect everything inside. I was smart and took pics of my third member box upon delivery though......
Sorry for the rant, but I just can't express in words how pissed I was to see something I had worked so hard for to obtain, get tossed around like a piece of garbage. I called FEDEX to file a complaint and they were very apologetic, but really, what's that gonna change? I mine as well go **** in the wind.
Either way, great looking piece of handiwork by Eric and I can't wait to drive my car knowing that I no longer have a grenade w/ the pin pulled for a rear-end. I'm getting mine professionally installed and it should hopefully be in by next week w/ pictures to boot

we are at about 2 weeks right now on powdercoated assy's... almost caught up. we will continue to build the common setups and start stocking them when the orders are filled. this way we will be able to ship parts or completes within a few days.

WTF man! that one was flipped upside down... theres no reason for that. those people could screw up a concrete block. i sold a customer a standard Moser 9 inch a while ago that was dropped or something in freight. it had to be sent back to Moser for repairs... that was UPS. i package all my housings in wood crates, bolted down, wrapped in cardboard, cutout lifting holes, and they still beat up the stuff. what does it take for these people to give a sh%t about peoples stuff. i guess thats what insurance is for, but it still doesn't fix the hassle and time it takes to take care of it. let me know if theres any problems. good luck with it!
Start shipping your stuff through us at USF HOLLAND. We have the fewest claims in the industry and more next day service lanes.
By the way, I broke my rearend exactly how Eric said to, and I've got to say, after a ton of 6000RPM clutch drops with sticky tires, this thing makes NO noise at all!!!

Good too hear, mine is currently under 200 miles at this point and no noise either(knock on wood). It won't see any hard time until next season so hopefully the trend continues.

Eric can build it as mild or crazy as you want it. The one I ordered is a direct stock replacement. He can make the rear wider, narrow, change shock mount location ect.
the stock driveshaft could work depending on the pinion but why put a bulletproof rear end in the car and keep a stock driveshaft. Eric has great deals on driveshafts and LCAs and panhard bars when you buy a rear end.

So no welding or anything? Does this use the stock panhard rod locations or something different?

I beleive your stock driveshaft would have to be length adjusted and upgraded to a 1350 yoke, might as well purchase a new stronger one. He can provide you with a direct bolt in driveshaft for i think around $300 or less, read previous pricing posts from Eric. His rear end will utilize stock panhard rod and lca locators. This is about a direct bolt in Fab 9 that you can get.

Just ordered mine tonight. Eric is a great guy to deal with. Couple of questions I forgot to ask(and I asked a million) I opted for the longer torque arm but the more I look the more I see guys getting the shorter setup. Second is: are there any exhaust clearance issues with either the long or short arm? I am thinking of swapping for the shorter setup and if I have problems with wheels up too far just installing a wheelie bar. What are the opinions on these issues?

all i have is a small 20-ton press. it doesn't take much to do it, but be sure to install the brakes on the correct side and the correct direction! short axle is drivers side, make sure the backing plate is closest to the flange, then the caliper mount, then the seal, then the bearing and lock ring... in that order. i can e-mail assembly pics if anyone needs. also... 98-02 brakes have a "L" and "R" cast into the caliper bracket backside just above the e-brake lever slot. this may help as well.

No exhaust clearance issue here...I'm running the tunnel mounted TA/DS Loop with Kook's 3" ORY to 3" Borla Catback.
