Default 9 Inch question

So Ive been without an ebrake for months now.

The back part of the rear end, where the LCA bolts in is also the stock location for the Ebrake brackets.

That works on a 10bolt, however the OEM ebrake brackets do not fit on a 9 inch. The brackets are too small and the 9 inch is too wide for it to slide up to the hole.

Suggestions on how to run an ebrake? with a 9"?
Just bend the bracket and make it fit?

Also,
theres a little tab on the ebrake bracket... Ive heard you have to actually drill into the 9" to get that tab to sit in their properly and keep it from moving?

Its very difficult to explain, but if youve seen it and experienced it youll know what i mean!!!

Please help ahaha.

yea... common problem with some 9 inch rears. drill a hole for the locator tab in the lca bracket, and cut off the inside leg of the e-brake bracket. this also is the case when installing relocators.

inside.. the leg closer to the tire? i guess it really doesnt matter eh?

i cant believe i didnt think of that. lol i feel stupid.

And also,
Once the ebrake is on, is there a way to tighten it? I figured I could either A. heat the bracket up and just use a hammer gently to bend it and increase the pressure or B. do something to the cables themselves..I know they run right above the driveshaft, isnt there a way to tighten them?

i cut the one closer to the center. the bracket is pulling from the outside, so i would think it may be stronger to use the outer one and cut off the inner. you could also cut the tab off of the back side, drill the existing hole out a bit and install like a 5/16 bolt through the lca bracket to keep it bolted in 2 places.

there is an adjuster at the bottom of the e-brake shoe inside the brake rotor. it is threaded, so adjust it accordingly and don't go too far.

bend the bracket and make it fit or cut the braket that slides over the 9 inch bracket in half and bolt it up. thats how i got the ebrake on my 12 bolt to work.

Ok so a problem came up....

I thought the ebrake bracket bolted into the same bolt that the LCA bolts into.. However, this is way too low...

I realized today when I put it up on the lift that where the ebrake bracket is supposed to go, the hole isnt lined up properly. I can see the hole, but its off alittle bit and theres no way a bolt would go through there without shoving a screw driver through and trying to line it up. Should I just go ahead and weld it instead of worrying about trying to get that hole lined up? Or should I get the hole lined up and put a bolt through?
