373s or 410s
I have 2001 trans am with a 6 speed and I am debating what gears I should get, the car is my daily driver and I dont take it to the track so what do you guys think. I really appreciate any feed back. Thanks!

373's are the BEST street gear imo. 410's would obviously be better, but for gas mileage, you dont want to be way high in the rpm range all the time. You would also have a bit of trouble hooking up with 410s without some sticky tires.... then you have to worry about breaking the 10 bolt, and it just becomes a big mess.

get 4.10's... I'm an auto and have 3.73's and love them.... you being an M6 can get away with a lower gear and your driving style... Your gas mileage will mainly depend on how you drive it and where you shift at..

That's about where you'll be. It's nice having a 6th gear on the highway with 4.10's. I had 4.10's in my 12 bolt and loved them. Gas mileage didn't really suffer unless the foot mod got tired of driving normal...haha.

With the m6 you shouldn't bother with the 3.73s. It's not enough difference from where you are at. The m6 deserves at least 3.90s and unless you are mega high hp probably 4.10s. I agree with everyone else here on rpms. You will barely loose 2 mpg on the highway.

4.10 ratio is the best option for a 6 speed car. You canrun your RPM Calculations from our website to figure what you would be turning. Let me know if you have any more questions.
