Is the girdle cover worth doing on a mostly stock car? Or save for another rear?

Only thing I plan on doing is maybe exhaust and headers for a long while. Track maybe a few times. So is the girdle cover worth it or save for another rear because the 10 bolt will go regardless. All the girdle does is preload the caps so I don't know if it helps a ton. Seems crush sleeves and loose gears are more of the problem.

All depends on the amount of abuse your are giving the differential. Yes they do help but if you are planning toupgrade anyways I would just save your money.

Save your money every little bit helps, nothing is worth putting into the 10 bolt.

people say a 10bolt is junk, but i have made many hard passes at the track with minimal problems from mky 10 bolt..3.42 gears, solid pinion sleeve,T/A girdle and studded the carrier bearing covers, welded axle tubes..on an auto car there are a lot of guys in the 10s in the 1/4 with a ten bolt..just depends on the rear i guess

I think aside from the built in drain plug it's basically an appearance mod. Save your money.

^^^^^ I agree That $120 can go towards a better rear.

Blew holes in two of them from differential bolts shearing off.
