Auburn Diff. with 3.73 gears.....

Topic says it all. Broke the Zexel a few years back, replaced with auburn, now its time for me to change diff. fluid. What kinda fluid? Synthetic or what? This is a first fluid change for me. Thx.

Auburn does not recommend synthetic, clutches probably don't like it 100%. I've used Valvoline and Mobil non-synthetics with the same combo. And I change the fluid quite often ...

use a good 80/90w gear oil With ford posi addative and you should have no problems.

Coastal 80W90. Says it's for Limited Slip Differentials. Will that work for me? Thanks.

My pinion seal gave up, so I am doing a fluid change because not much is left.

What are the advantages/disadvantages to the heavyweight fluid in the rear end.
