Default what the f***??!!?

soory for the rant but i need some thoughts...

alright so i went to the track last night and have never been so disappointed in my life. best time i had was 13 flat at 106. mods were intake and exhaust. thats all. i spun quite a bit so i thought some tires would do it a hell of a lot more justice. i had installed a shift kit which makes a world of a difference. i also had 373 gear installed. and tuesday i got the mickey thompsons. so i figured after this work, i would have no problem cracking into the 12s. wow was i mistaken. I go to burnout and the rearend immediately hooks to the left. really weird( youll understand waht i mean soon enough). i line up and slam it, i barely ppulled. the car felt so much slower going throught he gears then when i had the 323s. anyway i ended up hitting a 13.9xx at 100.xx. so as you can imaginge, i was quite upset. by the time i made my third pass, i come to find out that my right tire is barely spinning as i burnout. so right away i blaimed the problem on the rearend.

(im not sure if this can be relevant to a problem with gear or something in the rear end but i chirped a lil when shifting from first to second and went toward the wall for s slight second.)

i ran again but it was the same problem. i managed to pull a 13.4 by the end of the night but i am by all means not happy at all.

so i was curous as to what you guys tihnk the problem could be. i was thinking the posi? i tihnk the gear might have to be shimmed becuase it still whines but i dont know, im not too familiar with the rearend work. any help or thoughts would be much appreciated!

Sounds like the differential is crying mercy and giving you the one wheel peel. I would either start saving for an aftermarket rear, pick up a used 10 bolt, or get an aftermarket diff.

I would tend to agree that a new rearend is in order. The addition of the stickier tire may have done it in.

Sounds like the diff. My buddy's diff wasn't holding up so he had it welded. That held up for a bit until it gave up completely. Long story short, he has a new diff now.

If you are planning on going with an aftermarket rear in the future then just replace the posi with a good used one for now to save money. If you are not going with an aftermarket rear a suggest getting a clutch style aftermarket posi unit for your current 10 bolt. I am still running the stock 10 bolt with an Eaton posi unit which is holding just fine for now (time in sig but the 410's do whine). My palns are to be in the 11s this winter on my 10 bolt. I'm hoping that I do not have to upgrade until I spray.
