Default stalled a4. 4.10 questions

I have a 99ss with 3.23 right now. I will be having a cam put in soon but for now its the stock cam. I have a 3600 yank converter and I want to put gears in the rear. I was thinking of going 410s but with that be too much for the stock cam for now and would I even see a difference with 373s to make it worth the money. Good chance it mite see a small shot sometime soon as well

FWIW my buddy has 3.73s with no stall and no cam and I can feel a difference. If you daily drive 4.10s may be too much

4.10's should make you faster. You wouldn't be able to drive real fast on the highway without having your RPM's up though.

It should make you go faster. You'll be higher up in your power band when you cross the line. You'll definiatly need some tires.

http://www.f-body.org/gears/

Just plug in the axle ratio of your choice.

I think everyone who has a stalled car will agree go with a bigger converter and keep the gears you have now. If you still want more you can add gears and/or up the converter one more time.

If it's going to be a max effort N/A H/C car I'd go 4000/4400 converter and 4.10's

If it has a possibility of being a nitrous car later on I'd go with a 4000 converter and 3.73's or stock gears...

if you spray on 4.10's you may run out of RPM before the finish but that will also depend on the tire size you run as well.
