Default Is an Strange S60 superior to a Moser 9"?

Browsing around I come across the LS7 Camaro by GMPP once again, and notice it's rear end is an S60. I actually never heard of it before, but since it's in a car that does 500+ HP factory (or whatever they built it in), I was wondering what was better.

I plan on upgrading my rear this Xmas, and since they are around the same price, I'd like to go for the one that holds more power/has less noise.

can be built near the same, S60 is physically larger, also weighs more.

But only about 5-10lbs more. Unless its a fab'd 9inch then the s60 is quite a bit heavier. Also they say the s60 should hold up to like 1200ish hp so its pretty damn tough.

the torque arm mount could be detrimental to the longevity of the S60 where as the 9" has been proven to work. weighs more but remember the 12 bolt can hold a TON of power in 4 link cars and other stuff...lap a tq arm on it and it just can stand up to as much any more.

As they said s60 is 9.25 gear i believe and 9 inch is well 9 inches. So a little bigger helps, but they have some extreme 9's that user bigger gears as well. Technically with big enough axles and a good center section there are 9's that can handle 2,000 hp without to much concern. Either can be made to work great.

I personally think the 9" design is the better one with the removable third member and a really nice way of supporting the pinion.

Amen brother. Its nice being able to setup the gears on the bench as opposed to on your back. This is one feature that no other rearends can boast.

That and the gear selection for the 9" is unmatched.
