Default Should i get gears??

I have a 2002 Firehawk m6 with stock gears. Running out of bolt ons to get, so here i am..Would it be worth my wild to get a set of 4.10's??? Was talking to 2 different people with ls1's w/ 4.10. One guy loved them one guy hated them?? I cant call it.. Does it make the car pull that much harder, and if so thru full rpm's or more down low or top end?? I also run nitto drags would i still be able to come out of the hole like a rocket or will i get alot of wheel spin?? Daily driven car, occasional street race or two on the weekends.. Thanks,,

I'd say with the STOCK 10 bolt. The highest gear ratio I'd go with is 3.73 with 4.10's I've heard u can rip out the rear end even that much fast than with the stock 3.42's. I'm going with a 12 bolt with 4.11's it's on its way here as we speak. The 10 bolt is a weak rear end...esspecially with the 6-speed. well hope u like whatever u dicide on. Laterz Justin

4.10's are fun,but i feel for a stock 10bolt 3.73's are the best and safe way to go.they will make the car pull better then the stock gears. i think the m6 should of came stock with the 3.73's in it.

I think for now i might stick with the gactory gears. between the weak *** factory rear, drag radials and 100 shot the 4.10's would be an accident my pockets cant afford right now.. Thanks for all the inputs..

i love my 4.11's. my best friend has an '02 z28 with 3.73's and all the mods i have and i smoke him (when i can get traction). he get better traction off the line than I do but once i quit spinning.... oh my. of course that's with stock tires. i'm gonna get nittos and restalled to3200 soon (i hope) so we'll see what happens. i've seen some people on here with et streets and stock rear hold up with nitrous. it's hard to tell.

For the fun to drive factor the 4.10's in a M6 can't be beat.

I'd do something rather than just leave the stock 3.42's in. I did the 4.10s swap recently (w/10 bolt) and I think it's great. But I rarely drag race, and have never had drag tires, so I expect that I'm not going to be destroying mine anytime soon.

You dont want 4.10s with N2O or you'll be shifting into 5th in the 1/4. 3.73 is the highest you can go in that case. I really like my 4.10s, even though I've broken a set. The first set lasted 30-35k miles and they broke due to DRs.

Since you have nitrous, I would advise against the 4.10s... if you want gears now, go with 3.73s.

I have 4.10s in the stock 10 bolt, and they're really fun! However, I just have minor bolt ons (basically lid, CAI, cutout, and Predator tune for power mods), so I'm not all that worried about breaking the rear... even with my Nittos.

So far, the 4.10 rear end has survived 15 passes at the track, so far so good.
