what exactly is ironic? first GM proved it could make a better motor thats cheaper NA and theyre now going to make a better FI setup.
to say theres no motor GM could put in a 5TH gen thats NA that could beat a GT500 is nonsense.

you do realize that ford had to use dohc and 4v per Cylinder to get the power they did.. they couldnt do it out of a push rod motor, say gm did the same thing 4v per cyl dohc what would the outcome be? same as fords

Fact is, for years GM guys have used that comment towards Ford guys. Now Ford guys can use it, the Ls3 2010 SS's are having trouble with the 5.0's and now GM's bringing a Supercharged Z28? I just find it funny how your 1st post was talking about how the Z28's coming back and its gonna whoop up on the 5.0 and show the Boss 302, who the real Boss is.....yet the Z28's using a Supercharger to do it. Not N/A.

Personally, i dont really care how Ford makes the power they do out of the new 5.0. That's not a big deal to me, and of course if you build something, you can beat another car out there and not need a s/c.

Why does it suck. I love my SS and wouldn't dream of selling it for a car that I would have to pull the supercharger off of anyway. For people modifying there cars it actually makes more sense to buy the SS. The Z should be for the people who want to do no more than maybe headers. But also on the contrary, it will have a forged bottom end, so, it may be cheaper for some to get it just for that, add turbo and more boost and have a monster of a ride. But, that all depends on the cost.

It's easier to turn up the boost and have a reliable street driven vehicle using a car that is prepared for it from the factory than to take an N/A car and boost it. I've done it both ways and I would prefer to start with a boost ready car. If the z28 ends up being too expensive, then it would make more sense to just do it yourself. We will have to wait and see...

has anyone mentioned that on american top gear where they mention the z28 and say "so chevy is coming out with another z28". May not be word for word but they definately did not put any doubt in the comment

The Z28 is direct competition to the GT500, not the 5.0.
The LS3 is more than capable to run with a 5.0, hopefully 2012 sees some gearing options and a little HP bump to go after the Boss. There already is a new FE4 suspension coming for the SS in 2012.
