...nobody would buy that

This will be a great car. Put a new tune, air filter, and a smaller pulley and it will hall butt. I just hope the car comes with an auto. This car should give the GT 500 a good run. It is my understanding the GT 500 will have an aluminum block and 550 horse power for 2011. The 500 may weight a little less than the camaro. Who cares, bring on the horse power wars. BTW I own a 2008 GT 500 and a 99 SS camaro. Cheers to all........

Motor trend did a 1/4 run with the new camaro ss and the gt500. The gt500 went 12.8, the camaro ss went 12.9. I'm pretty sure the new z28 will hand it to the gt500. Either way, i've never bought a NEW car in my life but i'm pretty sure this will make me take the leap.

So it will be have more HP then a Z06 and be cheaper? Granted the Z06 is a better car but still.....how is that going to work? Or is there an upgrade plane for the Z06?

This is about the best car news I've heard since 2006 when I found out the Camaro was coming back.

When we last got our new cars, my wife and I made an agreement that neither of us would get another new car for 10 years. I ordered my 02 WS6 back in July 2001. Looks like my 10 yrs will be coming up just in time for the new Z28 .

Honestly though, I'll wait for the second year of the car being out before I get one.

The C7 is supposed to be out in 2012 as a 2013 Model. So the Z06 should be right behind it hopefully with more horsepower.

I just think the ZL1 should be taken more to the meaning since they are rare and not a run of the mill Camaro

I agree on the ZL1 part of this, that is a very special car and Chevrolet will not tarnish it. I have been in extensive talks with Dennis Barker of Nickey Chevrolet about the ZL1 and they are producing only 50 ZL1's at the request of the Fred Gibbs Family as a tribute to Fred Gibbs himself, with the possibility of an additional 19 for a total of 69 of them. GM is not building the car, Nickey will send it to partnered vendors for the build. This will be a 427 with 700hp in it. The only problem is the cost will be up around 100k. 3 orders have been taken on this already since August if I remember correctly. They will build the cars until all the allocated quantaties are gone(maybe 50 or 69) and if it takes 3 yrs for all to be gone, then thats what it will be. Im still up in the air about spending 100k on it, but it could be worth it in 20 yrs.

The LS7 is dying off soon . The C6.R team will not be using the 7.0L LS7 anymore. They're switching to a 5.5L. Weak sauce i know.

Off topic but i bet we see a turbo 5.5L Z06 C7, Porsche turbo fighter, and a monster NA ZR1 C7, Ferrari fighter. Id put money on it.

That is correct. The Z-28 was quicker than the SS, but the SS had a higher top speed.

Back in the day, the L78 solid lifter 396 ss was king of most production Camaros including the cross ram Z28. It was the LS3 of its time.

However there was the COPO and the ZL1:

So a few factory 427 were made.

But isnt that what makes them great? They always seem to take their time to devolpe a truly high quality product, and thats why they've always beat the **** out of Ford and Mopar.

I'd love to see an lsa crammed into a fourth gen! The power to weight would be phenomenal. Just for ***** n giggles, what is the cost for an lsa? Where can one check out pricing on ls engines?

Great, another "heavy" Camaro for people to complain about.

Seriously though, I can't wait to see one.
