DYNO RESULTS (bolt on ls3=h/c ls1)
Got her dyno tuned at stenod performance mustang dyno today.
The car made a consistent 426-428rwhp/408rwtq when hot after consecutive pulls.
Let the car cool for about 45 minutes and made a cooled down run and the car hit 435RWHP and 418 RWTQ.
Not to bad. My h/c ls1 car made 418/423 on a mustang dyno. Considering my 2010 is spinning an IRS and 20 inch rims....I am very impressed. Seat of the pants I still think my other car would probably pull it about 3-4 cars in the 1/4 (it was a 3300lb stripper) But damn...once I add heads/cam to this car WATCH OUT.
Ive got both graphs of hot and cooled run. Ill try and get them scanned....not sure if I can get mine to work or not...its like ten years old haha. Didnt get a vid of the pulls I didnt think about it during all the excitement.

Yes the LS-3 makes a lot of rwhp w/ simple bolt-ons .The stock heads and cam on a LS-3 is like doing a H/C swap on a LS-1 but w/ a little more cubes.My 2010 SS M6 made 430/431rwhp w/ LT 1 7/8,cats,slp pully,rotofab air intake and a tune w/ stock mufflers.

Still trying to work with the scanner. Ill probably have to take the print outs somewhere else to get them scanned...Im having some problems.
I would say the car is about dead even with my ls1 car when it was cam only. This would add up considering you need about 40-50 extra hp to make up for the weight when rolling in a 5th gen.

Great results. 2" headers, man... So how does the power band look stock vs afterwards with those headers... My question is really more about the bottom end torque and horsepower...

Pretty stout numbers! By way of comaprison, mine made similar with borla knock off 1-5/8primaries into 2.5" collectors into a stock catback. Roto fab and tune are the only other major mods. So id venture to guess the primary size doesnt do much until you get even bigger CI wise. I just tuned one identical to my car this past week that made 423 and 414 with SLP LT's and entire catback and mine made more across the entire curve for both bands.
(Not trying to jack thread, but for comparison sake) Overlayed over my intake and tune only #'s Final WCF #'s 429.7 and 422.1

Shoot over to camaro5.com and look at the Jannetty Racing INDEPENDENT header test results. They compared ARH 1 3/4, 1 7/8 and 2 inch sizes on the same day and the same dyno with the same car.
The 2 inch headers and 1 7/8 headers were NECK AND NECK up to about 5500 rpm...then the 2 inch made about 6 more rwhp peak. The 1 3/4 headers were slightly behind the entire time and made about 10 rwhp less than the 2 inch and 5 less than the 1 7/8.The car was stock except for headers.
I was convinced after this that the ls3 likes big primaries...even in bolt on form. And I will be doing heads and cam evetually...so I figured I couldnt go wrong with 2 inch. Judging from my numbers I think I made a good choice...I havent seen any bolt on cars with higher numbers than mine yet.

I had Kooks 1 7/8" silver ceramic coated and Rotofab cai and with high flow cats and kept the stock exhaust on a LS3 and pulled 421 HP and 419 TQ. I know it's still restricted with the stock exhaust, but I have some buddies in our Camaro club that put headers and exhaust, so I wanted to see what stock would sound like. I think it sounds pretty good. It's quite at idle until you get on it then it really opens up.

People arent seeing much of a gain with cat-backs on these cars. I think most are seeing like 5-8 hp. So I wouldnt mess with it if you like it.

I'm not a fan of stock cat-back with headers. My buddy has that set up, It's loud but has no real exhaust note. The cat-back tunes the sound and cleans it up IMO. But there really is not power gain, that's for sure.
As for 2" primaries, I just checked the SW website and they are the exact same cost as 1-7/8". Looks like I'm going 2"
